"So we begin this day with cleansing with this wonderful sage, this gift from mother Earth, we begin cleansing away what is no longer needed. And I pray for myself that I might be cleansed as well of what I don't need on this day, that I might be a hollow bone that Spirit's energy and great wisdom might pass through me and come to you.
So in this time we're in, we're told that its not so much about finding something, creating something, or making something happen, its about clearing away what doesn't work. It's about releasing the old. Letting go of the things that we have manufactured and made. The things that we have artificially created, when in fact creator gave us this incredible life, gave us this whole beautiful Earth, this sweetness, this possibility. He gave us things like these wonderful buckskins I wear. It's the most beautiful cloth in the world, its soft and wonderful and cool and warm and sweet and just fabulous and yet we have made plastic cloth that doesn't feel good to us, that isn't healthy for us, that isn't healthy for our environment. It feels like releasing those things that are not of nature, that are not of the Earth that are not natural that are not the gifts that come straight from the Earth, those things we can clear away, and as we clear away what doesn't work, then aaah then the sweetness, it's like this is a beautiful time, here by the ocean, springtime. And it's that same kind of thing when the spring waters come down through these beautiful streams, they wash away, things get cloudy, and tumbled and rolled, and what that does then is clear the way for the sweet water to come down, all year long and to nurture and to feed all of life.
And so we're in a time of great cleansing and clearing of letting go of what doesn't work, and allowing what does to come forward. To naturally arise and come forward. To serve and nurture us. So it's about that kind of clearing, and so with that I make this prayer:
'Creator on this good day, on this sweet day, on this day of beauty, we give thanks for our lives, we give thanks for the life of this sweet Earth, and we ask to remember to be respectful, to be loving, to be kind, to be caring. We ask to remember all the gifts that we've been given, so that we can walk forward with them in a good way. Not only for ourselves individually, or even our small circle, but for this great circle of life in which we live. May all be blessed. May all our relations be blessed.
