About Ecstatic Awakening Dance

In daily life in this modern day society, most people put on layers of masks and identities: protection to get through the day, and a busy chattering mind. When we arrive at an Ecstatic Awakening Dance session we start to come into the space, leave the layers behind, quiet the mind, slip into our bodies.
The first stage of the dance is a gentle warm up of the body, a guided movement meditation to come into each body part with our eyes closed. We move and breathe awareness and energy into all our cells and drop into ourselves.
The next active meditation is the Kundalini Shake. Here again with eyes closed, we pull Kundalini energy up from the core of the Earth. We shake our coiled Life Force energy awake, allowing it to open all our energy channels, shaking all the atoms, opening and preparing our bodies for a deep release.
After the shake we move into the deep Let-Go stage of the dance. This again, is an eyes closed movement meditation. We set personal intentions as a way to dance in our prayers. We use a powerful breathing technique to move us beyond our thinking minds and burn through the layers of emotional, mental, and physical resistances. We open ourselves up for strong healing, inner visions, and deep releases of anything we are holding that wants to be let go of and/or expressed.
Finally, we do our last guided meditation, where we root ourselves securely with the heart of Mother Earth and the expansion of Father Sky, and settle into our heart centers, where we carry the dance of those energies with us out into the world.
The dance is held in a very sacred space. This space is opened by the drum. All the seven sacred directions hold us in a space of love, healing and transformation. The medicine wheel guides our journeys. Mother Earth grounds and Father Sky holds us in light. The star nations shine on us. The sage and sweetgrass cleanse and purify the space. The rattle loosens and shakes out energy. The feather wipes away what is ready to go.
I am Emma Todd Walls. I am passionate about self-healing and of coming home in ourselves and in our bodies. I am personally dedicated to a shamanic healing process, and I have found this healing dance meditation complements all different types of practices, spiritual, mental, emotional, or just for fun and enjoyment. In our sessions I call on help from Spirit to help me hold the space and allow everyone to go as deep as possible on their sacred dance journey. I keep my awareness keen to the needs and safety of every individual in my group. I use the music, the drum, the rattle, and guided meditations to open the door for participants to step through into their inner landscapes, and hold the sacred space in our time together. I wish for everyone to awaken their hearts true ecstatic nature and come home inside to their True Self.

Well-Being Self-Empowerment Method
Ecstatic Awakening Dance is a method that was developed by Amoda Maa Jeevan in 1996, who did her Degree and Doctorate in Psychology at the University of London. In the 1980s she was featured in mainstream media in the UK and published her research in scientific journals regarding the relationship between psychological and physiological well-being. It was the basis of this research on the relationship of well-being and movement combined with music, meditation and breath, which forms the powerful transformative method of Ecstatic Awakening Dance.
Mindfulness Body Movement
The dance is done mostly with eyes-closed in order to create a safe, non-judging environment so you can really drop out of your chattering mind, and get into your body, get grounded, and build your mindfulness muscle in the now. You don't have to worry about what others think of you because they aren't watching!
